farewell hmv..

i'm bracing myself for what will (hopefully) be my last ever weekend of music retail. yes, that's right, sunday will see me doing my last replenishments, helping my last customers, putting out my last bits of stock, arranging my last get the picture. it's not quite as satisfying as it sounds, as i will then still have to do the stockcount on tuesday evening.....but guess what? that's right, it will be my last stockcount..

having worked in music retail for the last 8 years, and having spent the last 7 years working for the same company, i have to admit that this weekend is bittersweet..on the one hand, it's a gigantic relief knowing that i might get a 'normal' christmas this year, and that my weekends will be mine to do with what i wish....but on the other hand, i will almost certainly miss the routine & the people, and i just know i'm going to be one of those annoying ex-members of staff who tidy the sections when they go in (i already do this on my days off, so i can't see it stopping any time soon)..

it's certainly been a formative experience..hmv has given me some of my very best fact it was responsible for a large section of my circle of friends in oxford..and in newcastle as well (4 out of 5 of us in my house either work, or have worked at hmv)..not to mention the fact that i got two pretty serious relationships out of it..ah well..good tiiimes..

to round off this post, here's one of my very favourite hmv moments:
